In 2016, I found myself as a single mother of three children, after dedicating 25 years working in the retail industry. Balancing my demanding job made it challenging for me to provide my daughters with the time and attention they deserved, all while struggling to make ends meet due to my limited income.
I realised that something needed to change, but given my lifelong commitment to retail, I was unsure of what path to pursue or where to even begin. Then, one day, while at the park with my kids, I ran into an old friend who happened to be a photographer. When I shared my situation with him, he made an unexpected suggestion: that I should start my own Newborn Photography business. At first, I found this suggestion rather unusual since I had never even lifted a professional camera before, and I didn’t have much interest in photography. However, he went on to explain how this business had grown substantially and encouraged me to consider it.
THE PROBLEM WAS I HAD NO PRIOR PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE EVER!
Over the next few days, I thought of nothing else, and within just one week, I launched my new home-based business as a Newborn photographer.
